POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides leadership in the development and coordination of the health services program for a specific cluster; serves as the central resource and clinically-related activities at all schools.  Identifies the health care needs of students and the availability of health services/resources; plans and implements services to meet those health care needs.  Reports directly to the Director of Student Services.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides leadership and coordinates district's health service program for a specified cluster/area; monitors and evaluates the health service program to improve service delivery.

 

Supervises School Healthcare Technicians specifically assigned cluster/area.

 

Develops plans for improvement of record-keeping and data retrieval of student health records and data.

 

Consults with state, country, and federal health agencies to develop professional relationships in reference to monitoring and reporting health issues; serves as a resource to parents and teachers concerning health problems of students.

 

Coordinates procurement and distribution of equipment and supplies; maintain central reports of inventory.

 

All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.     

 

Minimum of 2 years Registered Nurse experience required; pediatric, adolescent, public health or 3-5 years supervisory healthcare experience preferred.

 

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Georgia and Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

 

High level of judgment: supervisor is available to review established broad objectives and approve executive-level decisions. 

 

Requires regular, frequent contact with internal and external personnel of influence and decision-making responsibility to discuss issues of moderate importance.  Excellent interpersonal skills are required for interacting and working with various levels of individuals.

 

Requires excellent written and verbal skills.

 

Applies technology concepts to improve efficiency and effectiveness of District; must be proficient with a computer.
