Position Summary:

Serves as central resource with regards to clinically related activities at the school site.   Identifies the health care needs of students and the availability of health services/resources and plans and implements services to meet those health care needs. Reports to the Supervising Nurse.

 

Additional Job Information:

Administers treatments and medication consistent with established protocol; assists with health needs of students, i.e. sickness, first aid, personal hygiene, as applicable; conducts vision and hearing screenings as needed.

 

Maintains documents of services rendered to students and accurate student health records, including registration and filing.

 

Consults with designated supervising nurse and external agencies in reference to reporting health issues; serves as a resource to parents and teachers concerning health problems of students.

 

Orders and maintains inventory of supplies.

 

All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates degree or 60 semester/90 quarter hours in applied science from any college holding the accreditation of CAAHEP or related field preferred, such as Certified Health Technician or Certified Nursing Assistant. 

 

Medical or technical course certificate required; CPR and first aid training preferred.

HS diploma or equivalent also required.

 

This is a 6.5 hour per day position. There is no overtime work associated with this position.
