POSITION SUMMARY:
Assists TV Station Manager in performing a wide array of tasks, including but not limited to, planning, producing, managing, and creating all aspects of video content/asset production for both live and taped multimedia productions, district television station, YouTube channel, and website. Will also be responsible for directing and distributing information about the school system, it's educational programming, training students and faculty members as needed on video production, assist with television production needs (i.e. interview talent/special guests, author scripts, coordinate production material, etc.). TriCaster knowledge preferred. This position reports to the Chief of Communications and the TV Station Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists TV Station Manager in scheduling, designing, writing and producing system programming. Builds and maintains relationships with local, metro and state news gathering organizations. Videotapes and edits packages for system events and activities; distributes schedules on all upcoming broadcast to system administrators, the public and employees under the direction of Television Services Manager and/or Chief of Communications.
Schedules, designs, writes and produces system programming, including but not limited to long and short format interview program with the Superintendent and/or district leadership. Coordinates and arranges the procurement of educational television program from various philanthropic organizations. Maintains the broadcasting updates for the local television station with news of upcoming events throughout the district.
Maintains a video archive of the system’s history and events. Plans and directs live broadcasts; assists in taping, editing and airing all regularly scheduled Board of Education Meetings, special projects, and programs as required.
Accepts, returns, and initiates telephone and electronic communication as needed to ensure efficient operation of the television station and Communications Division. Assists in planning and coordinating Television Station activities and schedules.
All other duties and assignments as required, in order to perform the above services.
KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS
Associates degree in Film/Television Production, Broadcasting, Journalism, Radio/TV, Communications or a related degree from an accredited college or university. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Three years’ successful experience in video production/journalism-related field. Along with some photography experience.
Prior experience coordinating video production; makes decisions and recommendations which affect the activities of others.
Valid GA driver’s license; documentation to support any other certifications.
Ability to work with minimum supervision and sound level of judgment: supervisor is available to review established broad objectives; must approve general recommendations.
Requires regular, frequent contact with internal personnel of influence and decision-making responsibility to discuss issues of moderate importance; requires continuing contact with officials at higher levels. Excellent interpersonal skills are required for working with inter-organizational teams.

Normal office setting. May require travel to off-site training locations, school site visits, and community site visits.
Light duty - On most occasions sitting at a desk or table; intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. Moderate lifting or carrying fifty (50) lbs. or less of equipment, etc.
NOTE: This is a grade 24, 225 day position.
