POSITION SUMMARY:

The Program Manager will be responsible for supporting a five-year grant funded by the U.S. Department of Education. The goal of the project is to develop and sustain a mental health training partnership between Georgia State University, Kennesaw State, Clark Atlanta, and the DBHDD. The goal is to expand capacity of the mental health providers to provide school-based mental health services within the context of a multitiered system of supports (MTSS). This 12-month position is renewable through the project period. This position reports to the Director of Student Behavioral Health and Well-Being.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervises graduate students' provision of tiered services and supports in schools. This includes conducting weekly visits to partner schools, ensuring the provision

of services by graduate students, coaching graduate students, and conducting individual, group, and in-vivo supervision in tandem with the clinical agency.

 

Coordinates with the community partners to provide school based mental health support services through Multi-Tiered System of Support.

 

Designs and implements professional learning activities targeted to build capacity of implementation of mental health processes for school teams and the department.

 

Develops and monitors programs and initiatives to address student needs in the areas of social/emotional development, well-being, and wellness.

 

Maintains and summarizes data related to project outcomes and development of training competencies.

 

Liaises with other state, metro agencies, as well as private/public schools and institutions to continually enhance and promote maximum cognitive and affective benefits for students. 

 

All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.

 

KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University in Psychology, Sociology, Education or a related field required. Master’s Degree in School Psychology, School Social Work, or School Counseling from an accredited preferred.

 

Minimum of one (1) year of professional mental health experience in a K-12 education setting or private setting required.

 

Makes decisions and final recommendations which routinely affect the activities of others.

 

GaPSC Certification in Education, Special Education, School Psychology, School Counseling, or Social Work preferred.  Valid driver’s license required.

 

Moderate analytical level of judgment required; must evaluate student evaluations and approve general recommendations.  Supervisor is available to review departmental recommendations.

 

Requires regular, frequent contact with internal and external personnel of influence and decision-making responsibility to discuss issues of moderate importance.  Excellent interpersonal skills are required for interacting and working with various levels of individuals.  

 

Requires excellen presentation, written and verbal skills.

 

Applies technology concepts to improve efficiency and effectiveness of District; must be proficient with computer.

 

Responsible for the welfare of others.

 

Normal office setting.

 

May require travel to off-site locations and school site visits.

 

Light duty - On most occasions, sitting at a desk or table; intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping.  Light lifting or carrying; twenty (20) lbs. or less.

 

NOTE: This is a grade 27, 210 day position.
