This position will oversee the daily operation of a school cafeteria and supervise food production and service activities in the kitchen. Responsibilities will include receiving and forwarding to central office free and reduced lunch applications; pre-qualification of students for free/reduced lunch status; daily planning and posting of work schedules for lunchroom staff; ordering all food and supplies for kitchen; receiving deliveries; checking supply orders and invoices; preparing daily paperwork for meal counts, deposits and production records; making daily deposits of all income; maintaining accurate inventories of purchased and USDA foods; participating in training courses as required by state standards; planning and maintaining daily production records; controlling daily inventory withdrawal in storage room, coolers, and freezers; maintaining all records and reports to meet State and USDA requirements; hiring and training new personnel; and performing related duties as assigned.

Additional Job Information:

-Ability to pass a required physical and background check.

-Ability to operate computers and cash registers for record-keeping, daily point of sale activity, and production records.

- Must complete 150 hours of school nutrition manager's "Training in Depth" courses within 5 years.

Minimum Qualifications:

- High School Diploma or GED.

- One (1) year of experience in food service in Clayton County production and management as an Assistant Manager of in the MIT program OR two (2) years of experience in food service outside the school system with a wide range of responsibilities in management and record-keeping (proof required).

-Experience with state-of-the-art point of sale and back-of-the-house software technology is preferred.

-Successful completion of a basic math and food service management skills assessment.

-Must successfully pass the national ServeSafe sanitation and safety certification test.
