POSITION SUMMARY:
Assists the principal of the school in providing leadership and guidance in the effective organization and operations the school; manages the curriculum and instructional program (including CTAE) as assigned, and maintaining a safe, orderly environment that support student success. This position reports to the Principal.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assumes responsibility for carrying out the duties of the principal during his/her absence; provides leadership and accountability in working with all school stakeholders including teachers, parents, support personnel, students etc. Conducts faculty meetings, assemblies, volunteer programs, and other activities.
* Oversees regulations affecting students? academic performance, discipline, and counsel with students as needed.
* Participates in staff selection, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions as assigned. Attends meetings, workshops, training and extracurricular activities.
* Prepares reports regarding attendance, test scores, personnel, government projects and other data.
* Reviews student/parent requests or problems and appropriately addresses them.
* Serves on district-wide task forces and committees All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
Master's Degree required. Candidates may also be considered if they have a Master's Degree and have successfully passed the GACE leadership test. If so, the candidate is eligible for a provisional leadership certificate and must register and enroll in a certification program that will lead to a clear, renewable leadership certificate.
Minimum of five (5) years successful teaching experience required.
Georgia Professional Certification at L-5 or higher in Educational Leadership or eligibility to Georgia Certification in Educational Leadership.
