POSITION SUMMARY:

Supports administrators and teachers in the development and coordination of behavior and academic interventions for students. Works with teachers to promote various methods of learning for Tier 2 and Tier 3 students. This position reports to the Administrator.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides support to administrators, teachers, and students, specifically Tier 2 and Tier 3 students. 

 

Plans and confers with the instructional staff concerning behavioral, social, academic, and developmental needs of students.

 

Develops and conducts professional development activities regarding modification techniques that address behavioral, social, academic and developmental deficits.

 

Assists instructional staff with development of behavior contracts, instructional strategies/techniques, and interventions.

 

Conferences with administrators, coordinates and schedules SST meetings, tracks Tier 2 and Tier 3 students’ data, and provides SST training. 

 

All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services. 

 

KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree or higher required in education or content field associated with area of responsibility. 

 

Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience required.

 

Makes recommendations or decisions which usually affect the entire department/school.

 

Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) professional certification at T-4 level or higher and content area specialization as required.

 

Varied; supervisor is available to review established broad objectives; independent judgment is required.  

 

Requires regular, frequent communication with internal school administrative personnel.

 

Requires regular, frequent communication with different constituencies: external agencies, parents, community etc.

 

Excellent classroom management required.  May be designated as a lead teacher or trainer. 

 

Applies, recommends and implements technology to improve the effectiveness of school operations. 

 

Normal classroom/school setting.

 

Must be able to stand and walk approximately seven (7) to seven and one-half (7½) hours per day.
