POSITION SUMMARY:

Implements mandatory required components critical in satisfying federal requirements to maintain Title funds; supports specific identified Title programs for the successful implementation of system-wide and targeted assistance programs.  Collaborates with area superintendents, District-level coordinators, principals, leadership teams, and other District staff.  Note: Additional or differentiated duties may be assigned depending upon the nature of the work particularly associated with the specific responsibilities. This is a Title I funded position; employment is based on the availability of federal funding and program needs to be determined annually. This position reports to the Director of Federal Programs.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serves as liaison to District staff and state/federal agencies with planning and executing various federal program components to ensure compliance with Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requirements.  Provides support and oversight system-wide and school-based for implementation of federal program guidelines.

 

Assists with the coordination of various levels of services for those programs, to include planning, coordination, and implementation of high quality staff initiatives, evaluations of school achievement plans, parental involvement, supplemental education services, School Choice and budget development in compliance with federal and state guidelines.

 

Conducts appropriate school visits and state monitoring; compiles data reports for District, state and federal accountability. 

 

Communicates with all stakeholders regarding the federal components under Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and Title programs in accordance with federal guidelines to achieve best practice organizational goals.

 

All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.

 

KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Master's degree in Education field is required from an accredited university.

 

Minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience in an educational environment is required.  Experience serving on District-level reform teams and/or initiatives preferred.

 

Requires inter-division coordination; makes decisions and recommendations which affect the assigned division, but at times affects others outside of the assigned division.

 

GaPSC certification at level 5 or higher is required; Must hold GaPSC Tier I leadership certification or be willing to obtain Tier I leadership certification within the first two years of employment.

 

Analytical: supervisor is available to review established broad objectives; independent judgment is required to review and approve major recommendations. 

 

Requires regular, frequent contact with internal and external personnel of influence and decision-making responsibility to discuss issues of moderate importance; occasionally requires contact with officials at higher levels.  Excellent interpersonal skills are required for working with inter-organizational teams.

 

Responsible for multiple functions of instructional supervision with high-level accountability for effective operation and results.

 

Applies, recommends and implements technology concepts to improve the effectiveness of instruction and pedagogy.

 

Responsible for the welfare of others frequently (more than 3 times per week).

 

Normal office setting.

 

Requires frequent travel to off-site training locations and school site visits.

 

NOTE: This is a grade 28, 225 day position that pays for experience up to a Step 8.
